Practice Description
MY COMMITMENT TO CLIENTS
First, clients need to know that my greatest concern is helping them to achieve the results they want. I believe that you have a right to know, sooner rather than later, whether I am being helpful to you. For these reasons, I monitor our progress at each session using two short four-item paper and pencil assessments. Your ongoing feedback will tell us if we are on track, if we need to change something about therapy, or if a referral to someone else might help you get the outcome you want better or more quickly. Achieving your goals and/or resolving your concerns effectively and efficiently is a primary focus of my practice.
DESCRIPTION OF MY PRACTICE
I have worked with individuals, couples, and families dealing with many types of concerns for more than 15 years within a Christian context.
Both men and women dealing with anxiety, depression, death and grief, divorce, abuse, and those having experienced traumatic or violent situations have benefited from my work with them individually.
In pre-marital counseling we address intimacy, communication, spirituality, the sexual relationship, decision making, parenting, and relationships with in-laws.
Many of the married couples I see address concerns such as communication, problem solving, intimacy and their sexual relationship, extra-marital affairs, and struggles with re-marriage. For matters relating to parenting and step-parenting, I often involve children and/or others in sessions if/when appropriate.
BUSINESS CONSULTATION EXPERIENCE: I have a great deal of experience (more than 50 on-site responses) in helping businesses and organizations prepare for and effectively manage crisis situations that impact their organization and their people. On-site responses include group and individual debriefings, and consultations with leadership on what to expect and how to respond appropriately. My experience involves hostage situations, work-place violence (murders), robberies, the workplace impacted by school shootings, and natural disasters.
Stress Management, More Month (financial), Balancing Work and Family, Leadership Tips You Can Use, Communication Skills and Conflict Management for Leaders are topics of brown bags, seminars and training sessions that I have presented for several Fortune 500 companies.
As a Certified Life Coach I have worked individually and in groups with mid and upper level leaders to address both work and personal concerns that impact their careers.
